Portland Motorcycle Accident Lawyer Michael Colbach Promotes Rider Safety Through Motorcycle Racing & Track Day Support

Longtime supporter of professional racer Andy DiBrino advocates seat time, rider development, and strong representation for injured motorcyclists.

In my experience, most motorcycle riders are very safe and cautious, as our life is on the line if we are not.”

PORTLAND, OR, UNITED STATES, October 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — For Portland motorcycle accident attorney Michael Colbach, supporting motorcyclists extends far beyond the courtroom. A lifelong rider and longtime supporter of motorcycle racing, Colbach believes that rider education, track days, and skill development play an important role in creating safer, more confident riders.
Long before becoming affiliated with Andy DiBrino, Colbach actively promoted rider development and safety through track days with some of the best motorcycle coaches on the West Coast. After opening his personal injury practice, he offered track-day opportunities to motorcycle clients and sponsored an invitational track day at Portland International Raceway (PIR), believing that seat time and rider education help motorcyclists build valuable skills in a controlled environment.
For the past decade, Colbach has supported professional motorcycle racer Andy DiBrino, one of Oregon’s most accomplished riders. During that time, DiBrino established himself among the PNW’s elite racers, earning championship titles, competing successfully in MotoAmerica competition, and setting records at Portland International Raceway. In 2018, DiBrino broke the overall Oregon Motorcycle Road Racing Association (OMRRA) motorcycle track record at PIR with a lap of 1:05.228 aboard an EDR Performance Yamaha YZF-R1. DiBrino has compiled an impressive resume that includes victories at Day in the Dirt (racing Super Hooligan), consecutive Super Hooligan National Championships, OMRRA Overall Championship, multiple lap records at Portland International Raceway, and a runner-up finish in the 2026 National Super Hooligan Championship. His continued success across road racing, flat track, supermoto and Super Hooligan competition has made him one of the Pacific Northwest’s most respected and versatile motorcycle racers.
“I’ve always believed that seat time makes better riders,” Colbach said. “Whether it’s a track day, a rider training program, or spending time on a dirt bike, every opportunity to improve your skills and understanding of a motorcycle can translate into safer riding on the street.”
Colbach is an enthusiastic supporter of motorcycle racing and track days because they provide riders with opportunities to get more seat time, practice to improve braking, cornering, hazard awareness, and motorcycle control in a controlled environment. “The more seat time riders have in a controlled environment, the more skills they develop that can help them make safer decisions on the street.”
As a motorcycle accident lawyer, Colbach represents riders who have been injured through no fault of their own. Many of the cases he handles involve motorists who fail to see motorcyclists, violate riders’ right-of-way, or otherwise operate their vehicles negligently.
“I have ridden thousands of miles on my street motorcycle and know the dangers that motorcyclists face every time they get on a bike. In my experience, most motorcycle riders are very safe and cautious, as our life is on the line if we are not.” Colbach said. “The motorcycle community places a high value on training, practice, and personal responsibility. Unfortunately, even the safest and most experienced riders can be seriously injured when another driver makes a careless decision.”
Colbach hopes to encourage motorcycle riders to practice their skill development while helping ensure injured motorcyclists have a strong advocate when they need one most.
