New Global TV Script Competition Invites Screenwriters to Submit Original Series for a Grand Prize and Consideration for GoodShort Development.
LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, September 21, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — GoodShort, a rapidly growing digital entertainment platform known for its short-form vertical dramas, launched today the Good Script TV Series Script Competition, a new global screenwriting initiative created to discover compelling original television projects and the creative voices behind them.
The competition marks GoodShort’s expansion beyond vertical storytelling into horizontal, longer-form episodic television. Through the initiative, GoodShort will explore how professional screenwriting, original intellectual property, emerging production technology and global digital distribution can create new pathways for stories to reach audiences.
The competition is open to all screenwriters worldwide ages 18 and older, including emerging and professional writers and writing teams, subject to the Official Rules. No previous television writing credit is required, allowing new voices to confidently submit their work alongside more established creators.
GoodShort is seeking television concepts designed for 30 to 60-minute episodes and six- to eight-episode seasons. Although there are no genre restrictions, the company has expressed particular interest in young adult romance and fantasy, as well as adult romance, drama, action and adventure, and science fiction. Projects outside these genres will also be considered.
Entrants must submit a complete series treatment and pilot script that demonstrates the project’s potential to sustain a broader television series for the 1st round of application. The ones who are selected for the finalists will have a week to submit the full series of scripts in the later part of the evaluation process.
The Good Script TV Series Script Competition offers writers two potential creative pathways. Screenwriters may submit an original television project that they own or control. Writers interested in adapting a story from GoodNovel may contact the competition team with specific titles in mind, and the team will confirm availability and share the applicable submission process.
All submitted creative material must be 100% owned by the writer or writers. Each entry must reflect the writer’s own creative voice, storytelling, characters, and scripts. The potential use of artificial intelligence will be limited to later production stages. Each writer (or co-writers) can have up to 2 submissions. All submissions must be written in English.
The competition is designed to identify promising television projects while exploring how emerging production technology could reshape the way those stories are produced and brought to audiences.
The Grand Prize is up to $10,000 and a potential AI production Deal, subject to the final Official Rules. The winning project will be considered for development as an innovative, AI-produced GoodShort horizontal series.
Selection as the winning project does not guarantee production. The competition is intended to identify stories with the potential to move beyond the page and enter GoodShort’s emerging television-development pipeline.
The initial round of submissions will open on Monday, September 21, and will close on October 10, 2026. The finalists will be announced on Friday, October 16th. The 2nd round of submissions for finalists only for the completed series of scripts will open from October 16th, and will close October 23rd. Final results are scheduled to be announced November 6th, 2026.
